National Team 2023!

DKF is proud to announce the National team for 2023! After an intense round of competition to choose the 7 strongest men in Danish kendo, those who won spots were Peter Klærke Jensen from Horsens' Shushikan dojo, Aske Slyngbom Nielsen from Odense’s Gakushinkan dojo, Adam Stahl from Aarhus’ Soryukan dojo, Syuma Kato from Nordfyn’s Goshikan dojo, Frederik Klinge Rasmussen from Vejle’s Goninkan dojo, Silviu Alexandru from Horsen’s Shushikan dojo and Jens Møllgaard Jensen from Thys Renshikan dojo. There was only one try out for the women’s category, but she still had to compete against all the male contenders for a spot on the team, so congratulations to Mia Elisabeth Bisgaard from Thys Renshikan dojo, you fought hard for your spot! Thank you, to all the people who trekked out to Odense for the January 14th tryouts. Even if you didn’t make the team, your enthusiasm and passion for kendo was noticed. You helped make the event more exciting for everyone and there is always next year! The national team will now undergo intense training for the next four months to test their mettle in the 32nd European Kendo Championships in Beauvais France, taking place on May 19th, 2023. We look forward to seeing all our international kendo friends there and everyone trying their absolute best!
